Finding our place in the world can be daunting. It took me a while to decide what I wanted out of life. I studied social anthropology and sociology at university and enjoyed exploring and reading about different cultures, large and small, in this country and others. My interest in people led me to train and then work for Relate (the largest couples counselling organisation in the UK) for 15 years – full-time and part-time. I met some incredible people during this time. I also worked with some fascinating people from various organisations.

Psychotherapy experience
I then decided to extend my knowledge of couple work. I completed an MA in Relationship Therapy at the Relate Institute and the University of Hull. I then furthered my skill set by completing an MSc in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy at the renowned Tavistock Relationships, formerly known as the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships (TCCR) in London. During this time, I also worked at an NHS Psychosexual Service in Bedford, where I saw individuals and couples struggling to remedy their sexual dysfunctions.
Since gaining my qualification in Psychosexual Therapy, I have become a visiting clinician at Tavistock Relationships, where I see patients on Monday afternoons. I also lead and teach the Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy with a colleague and teach the Certificate in Psychosexual Studies. I am also an external examiner for several counselling courses at the University of Hull.
As an experienced integrative therapist, I enjoy enriching my knowledge base. I frequently attend courses, conferences and seminars. I am enthusiastic about learning, so I read extensively about leadership, personal growth and sexual relationships, which I bring to my private practice.
Before becoming a psychotherapist
I have also worked in the corporate world. I designed psychological and educational training programmes and created coaching and personal development workshops for a variety of organisations. Some of these companies include British Airways, Heathrow Airport, Zurich Insurance, Network Rail, BT and Europcar, to name but a few. I still occasionally offer consultancy work to small organisations, but my primary focus is my private practice.
My approach
My philosophy is to invite people to explore their emotional, relational, personal and professional lives. I help create meaning in a confusing situation to enrich the quality of how couples wish to live their lives. I have been told I am a caring, compassionate, insightful therapist. I hope I can invite you to find joy and success in your life.
I have been in private practice since I moved to Olney near Milton Keynes in 2013.
I have full professional indemnity insurance and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
